From a legal aspect, Miranda Rights will be one of the most important parts of the Spanish language you can learn. Even if you do memorize them, it would be a good idea to print out a copy of this page and keep it with you as a back up. Below is a translated list of the Miranda Rights.

Usted tiene el derecho de mantener silencio (oo-STEHD tee-EH-neh EHL deh-REH-choh DEH mahn-teh-NEHR see-LEHN-see-oh) - You have the right to remain silent

Lo que diga puede ser usado en su contra (LOH KEH DEE-gah PWEH-deh SEHR oo-SAH-doh EHN SOO KOHN-trah) - Anything you say can be used against you

Tiene el derecho a un abogado y tenerlo presente durante interrogación (tee-EH-neh EHL deh-REH-choh AH OON ah-boh-GAH-doh EE teh-NEHR-loh preh-SEHN-teh doo-RAHN-teh een-teh-rroh-gah-see-OHN) - You have the right to a lawyer and to have a lawyer present during questioning

Si no tiene dinero para conseguir un abogado uno le sera designado antes de cualquier pregunta si usted desea (SEE NOH tee-EH-neh dee-NEH-roh PAH-rah kohn-see-GEER OON ah-boh-GAH-doh OO-noh LEH SEH-rah deh-seeg-NAH-doh AHN-tehs DEH kwahl-kee-EHR preh-GOON-tah SEE oo-STEHD deh-SEH-ah) - If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed to you before any questioning if you desire

Entiende usted? (ehn-tee-EHN-deh oo-STEHD) - Do you understand?

Quiere hablar? (kee-EH-reh ah-BLAHR) - Do you wish to talk?
