In today's world our emergency personnel all over the country are dealing with a huge, extremely difficult problem: communicating with non-English speaking residents. The number of Spanish speaking people in this country has risen to a great number, and continues to grow all the time.

Most emergency personnel have not been trained in the Spanish language, which presents a big problem.

The inablility to communicate with a Spanish speaking person prevents us from fully understanding the situation, and sometimes from totally addressing the correct problem. This can put their lives in danger, as well as our safety. This is a problem that must be looked at and fixed. The goal of Spanish 4 Emergencies.com is to help bridge this gap for our emergency personnel, thus protecting and allowing us to fully do our jobs.

Spanish 4 Emergencies was founded by Brady Lewis in 2002. Lewis, now 25, is a 4-year reserve police officer and a 3-year emergency dispatcher in his hometown of Anderson, Indiana. “I decided I needed to learn some emergency Spanish for my own safety, as well as the safety of the subjects with whom I was coming into contact,” Lewis says.

Upon searching for information and products aimed at emergency personnel, Lewis was surprised to find very little that proved to be helpful. Determined that this was a substantial problem that needed to be addressed, Lewis decided to address the problem on his own.

He started doing research on the Spanish language and put together some ideas for products to help his fellow brothers and sisters out. Since then, Lewis has developed all of the products available on this website, and has several more in the works. He has since employed his wife Angel to help him in starting Spanish 4 Emergencies.

Today Spanish 4 Emergencies is still a small company ran by Lewis, his wife Angel, with a few other family members pitching in here and there. Although it is still a small operation, large orders are not a problem. Also, because of the small size of the company, it is much easier to work out great deals with potential customers.

Brady Lewis is proud of the fact that he is by no means fluent in Spanish. He is proud of this because he is just like all of the Spanish 4 Emergencies users. He has learned what he needs to know to keep himself and the people around him safe. This is what he wants to help the emergency workforce with. That is the reason for Spanish 4 Emergencies.
